Alyscia Cunningham’s documentary, I Am More Than My Hair, will be presented online on Feb. 10. Branwen Okpako, associate professor of cinema and digital media, will moderate a Q&A with Cunningham following the screening.
Based on Cunningham’s second book, the film features the author and filmmaker interviewing females who have experienced hair loss due to a health-related condition. The program will include a short film by Chara Charis Andrews (’20).

Presented by the UC Davis Center for the Advancement of Multicultural Perspectives on Social Science, Arts, and Humanities(CAMPSSAH), the program is organized by Kimberly Nettles-Barcelón, associate professor and faculty advisor of gender, sexuality and women’s studies, and faculty director of CAMPSSAH, the program sponsor. Co-sponsored by the Women’s Resource and Research Center (WRRC), the Manetti Shrem Museum and the Department of Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies.
