UC Davis Vocal Ensembles Seek Singers
Auditions for Spring Quarter Concerts

Vocalists wanted. University Chorus and Chamber Singers at UC Davis are encouraging students, faculty, staff and community members to audition.

The University Chorus is looking for all ranges but especially tenors and basses for their spring quarter performance of Mozart’s Requiem. The Chamber Singers are seeking sopranos and altos only.

UC Davis vocal ensembles give singers an opportunity to perform onstage in Jackson Hall at the Robert and Margrit Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts. The hall’s superb acoustics are renowned by numerous acclaimed musicians and vocalists who have performed there.

“When you join our vocal ensembles, you make new friends who enjoy singing profound texts such as Mozart’s Requiem and performing exciting music,” said Caleb Lewis, director of choirs. “We also learn how to improve our singing voice and strengthen our musical skills. No previous experience is required.”

The University Chorus rehearses Tuesdays and Thursdays 4 to 6 p.m., and the Chamber Singers rehearse Mondays and Wednesdays 4 to 6 p.m. in the Music Building. Mozart’s Requiem is set for June 7 in Jackson Hall, and the Chamber Singers’ concert performs May 31 in the Ann E. Pitzer Center.

To schedule an audition time slot for Feb. 28, March 1, 4, and 5, please visit ucdavismusic.appointlet.com.

University Chorus and the Chamber Singers are housed in the UC Davis College of Letters and Science’s Department of Music.
