The Department of Design announces a temporary lecturer position(s) to teach FURNITURE DESIGN AND DETAILING during the Winter and Spring 2021 quarters.

DES 135A – FURNITURE DESIGN AND DETAILING ; Development of designs for contemporary furniture. Consideration of behavioral and physical requirements, cultural and historic expression, and structural and aesthetic qualities. Process includes research, drawings, and construction of scale models.

Design at UC Davis is unique within the University of California system and presents itself as a global model for design education with a research focus.

Applicants must have professional experience in a design field related to the curriculum.

Appointment Dates:
Winter Quarter: January 4 – March 19, 2021
Spring Quarter: March 25 – June 10 2021

Qualifications:
Appropriate professional degree, e.g. MFA, or equivalent training and professional experience.

Demonstrated teaching ability and experience. A developing record of creative, scholarly, or professional achievement in an area of expertise related to the subject area, as described in this announcement.

Salary and Appointment Level:
Commensurate with degree and experience.
