Congratulations to lecturer and alumna Michele Apriña Leavy who is in the California Shakespeare Theater summer 2018 season opening production of “Quixote Nuevo.” The acclaimed production has been extended through July 7. 

This new work by Octavio Solis, whose “Gibraltar” was produced by the Department of Theatre and Dance in November, is a world premiere, directed by KJ Sanchez. This music-filled contemporary retelling of Cervantes’ classic novel features Emilio Delgado, best known for his long-running role as Luis on “Sesame Street” in the title role and a cast of Latinx actors from the Bay Area and beyond.

The show is performed at the Bruns Amphitheater, 100 California Shakespeare Theater Way in Orinda, California.
