The event is free and open to the public. The Mary L. Stephens Library is located at 315 East 14th Street in Davis.
The Mary L. Stephens Library together with the Friends of the Library are sponsoring an show featuring the Design 171 Fashion illustration student’s work.
Design 171 Fashion Illustration explores hand illustration for the first five weeks using graphite, pen and ink markers and watercolor. Technical computer illustration is the medium for the last five weeks of the quarter using photoshop, illustrator, and various apps that are designed for drawing.
Woven into the drawing aspect of the class are lessons in sustainability, fashion business, garment construction, teamwork, and creativity. Many students apply what they are learning in this class to their senior thesis collection, that they show in the annual Picnic Day Fashion show.
