Gardening Core-O-Graphies
Arena Theatre, Wright Hall
“Gardening Core-O-Graphies,” an exploration of atmospheres through the movement of rope by UC Davis theatre graduate student Regina Gutierrez, will be performed April 12-14.
Performed in Wright Hall’s Arena Theatre, “Gardening Core-O-Graphies” explores atmospheres, worlds composed and decomposed by disperse elements in the routes created by the performers bodies and the movement of a rope. Partitures of actions become intertwined and chained attending to the difference created by their attunement to different elements and atmospheres. A rope/movement of a body transits across inner landscapes knotting the sensations of the performers who attend to what is changing in their repeated actions throughout the performance. The vision of a Jaguar moves along the routes of a mesh of bodies, water, forest, soil, and plastic, engaging with sensations across the worlds we live with today.
“Gardening Core-O-Graphies” will be performed at 7 p.m. each day with an additional 2 p.m. performance April 14. Admission by donation.
