Sign Up for Audition Slot

The UC Davis Theatre and Dance Department and the Theatre and Dance Ensemble are holding auditions for the 3rd Annual Ground and Field Theatre Festival on May 20 and 21, 6-10 p.m. in the Arena Theatre, Wright Hall. The auditions will be held in conjunction with those for the fall quarter production of “The Threepenny Opera.” Callbacks are scheduled for May 22. 

This exciting partnership formed to create and develop new plays and musicals for a sustainable future and the creative team is looking for actors and technicians to participate in the 2019 festival. 

We are looking for theatre artists who are committed, passionate, and excited to be part of an on-going ensemble. All ensemble members will work in various capacities on each project so it’s of the utmost importance that you are a team player who is unafraid of new challenges. We are looking for crew, designers, and performers.

In collaboration with various directors, Ensemble Artists will develop and workshop new plays and musicals from up and coming and established playwrights from around the country. Collaborators will explore new plays, participate in readings, dramaturgy, workshops, and the intensive will culminate in performances at the beginning of the fall quarter.

Please be prepared to read from sides and dress to move. If you are crew, a non-performer, or a theatre curious artist, please be prepared to interview. If you’re a singer, prepare 16 bars (there will also be a song taught at callbacks). Bring headshot and resume.  

Festival & Performance Dates:  Rehearsals: September 3-October 2.  Performances October 3-5.
