“Let’s Draw Davis,” A Sketchcrawl
The hot weather has its benefits. It’s good for ink not freezing in pens and watercolors drying quickly – which is ideal for participants of “Let’s Draw Davis,” the unique sketchcrawl series that explores the city.
On Saturday July 15th, a sketchcrawl will explore the hidden courtyards and alleys of downtown Davis (more shade!), starting at Orange Court (off of E Street, between 1st and 2nd), and finishing at the little courtyard behind the Pence Gallery (D Street).
If participants arrive at Orange Court at 10:00am, Pete Scully, master urban sketcher, will give a short tutorial on urban sketching, just going over some basics for those who are interested, before we all head off to draw Davis.
As always this sketchcrawl is FREE and open to anyone of any ability who likes to go sketching, meet other sketchers, and explore Davis a bit. All you need is something to draw with and something to draw on! (And maybe a cold drink, though if it gets too hot, there are plenty of places to pop into nearby!)
START: 10:00am, Orange Court (129 E St)
FINISH: 2:30pm, rear of Pence Gallery (212 D St)
Let’s Draw Davis” is now a monthly sketchcrawl series with its own Facebook page announcing the dates of the upcoming sketchcrawls.
