In 2002, Professor Jeffrey Thomas invited alumni of the UC Davis
choral programs to join the University Chorus and Chamber Singers in
their inaugural performance at Mondavi Center. Over the past few
years, the Alumni Chorus has evolved into an integral part of the
Department of Music’s concert seasons.
Works performed in recent years include Verdi’s Requiem, Mahler’s
Second Symphony, Orff’s Carmina Burana, and, in 2008,
Mendelssohn’s Elijah. Meeting over the course of one
long weekend per year, the reunions enable participants to
experience the joy of performing and reconnecting with old
friends and past professors.
