We will take an iconic section of a musical theater piece from the American Classics lexicon. During the semester, we will dissect it, examine it, learn from it, and then produce it.
The class explores what makes Musical Theater work, how to create theater pieces that eventually sing and dance, how to understand them as an actor/collaborator/creator/scholar. And how to bring musical theater ideas and ideals to fruition.
