Brittany Huynh is a fourth year music major with an emphasis on
music performance. Her musical endeavors began with the piano and
the flute and eventually led to her encounter with the harp. She
began her harp studies five years ago, and currently studies
under Henry Spiller and Dan Levitan.
Kevin Sakamoto is a music performance major from Sacramento, CA.
He enjoys exploring many different genres such as orchestral and
contemporary popular music. His accomplishments include touring
fifteen states with an acoustic rock trio and recording at
Skywalker Ranch with the American River College Symphonic Band.
He plans on pursuing a doctorate in music, performing in an
orchestra and teaching percussion.
Bob Rucker is an emeritus professor, who first played in the
orchestra in the early 70s and after a long hiatus resumed
playing in various UC and local ensembles, starting in the
mid-1990s. He is again pleased to be in the orchestra for
this season.
Nicole Tanner is a junior at UC Davis. She joined the symphony
orchestra at the beginning of last year and enjoys her time
playing in it immensely. Before now, she has had no orchestral
experience, but plenty of band experience. Nicole began playing
in a concert band when she was a freshman in high school, and
joined many different styles of bands and ensembles thereafter.
These styles included jazz and funk bands, Christmas caroling
bands, and marching bands, but her school was not large enough
for a symphony.
Sean Raley has been playing trombone for 9 years. He is a second
year mechanical engineering major who enjoys tennis, racquetball,
ping pong, bowling, etc. In addition to trombone, he plays guitar
and sings, but isn’t all that great at either one. He can also
grow a pretty sweet pair of sideburns.
