Sarah Frieberg was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Her work explores both installation and sculpture forms that are driven by her reverence and inquiry of the natural world. The foundation of her work is alchemical; it relies on the transformation of materials, two-dimensional line, physical space, and ideas. Before earning her art degree she pursued a degree in horticulture, spending many years operating and owning her own landscaping business. Within her work she is interested in our relationship to the environment as a global community and how the common beliefs toward and about nature create an effect upon the whole.
