Rachel Deane grew up in Atlanta, Georgia. She moved to the North East for her undergraduate years. While in school she held a variety of jobs, most notably working for RISD’s Title IX office as Program Coordinator. After completing her undergraduate work, she received an MA with research that was focused on accessibility in the Art Museum. In her practice, she is interested in viewer experience and aims to provide the opportunity for empathetic growth. She is primarily a painter but is expanding her practice to include sculpture and installation.
