Tracie Dang
Violin I
My name is Tracie Dang. All my life, I always had passion for music. My parents introduced me to the true meaning of music. Ever since I was six years old, I played the piano and then at seven I started playing the violin and the flute in elementary school. At first, I did not understand the true meaning of playing the instrument because I loathed practicing. But as time went, I started to realized knowing how to play not just one instrument, but three instruments was a great gift. Through determination, I strive on becoming better as a musician.
In middle school, I was in the San Bernardino Honor Band he and Orchestra and eventually became the concert master for the orchestra. In high school, I became the concert master for two years in my school orchestra and made it into the Redlands County Honor Orchestra as second violin principal player. In the mean time, I also attended in the Youth Symphony in Pasadena as first violin principal and the Chaffey High School Symphony as first violin principal. In addition, I was in the Marching Band all four years in high school I was the section leader for the flute section one year and played the snare drum in drum line for one year. Now, I attend UC Davis majoring in Animal Biology and Environmental Toxicology and minoring in Wildlife Health and I am proud to say I am in the UC Davis Symphony Orchestra in the first violin section. I am happy where I am and I will always love music with a passion. I am never going to give up on music.
