A long time ago, in this precise galaxy, Hewett Lan emerged into the violin scene with authority.  From the moment he picked up the violin, his prowess was unmatched, as demonstrated in his unique interpretation of the famous “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.”  No such music had ever been heard throughout his household; no one around him could rival his power.  As the years progressed, Hewett Lan began adding various pieces to his arsenal, adding more firepower to his impressive repertoire.  As he grew so did his powers, until one day, he knew it was time to follow his desti

ny: it was time to take on the world.  He burst into his school orchestras, violin drawn and tunes blazing, taking his associates by surprise.  Back in those days, no one could play as Hewett played, and he quickly usurped the position of Concertmaster.  That, my dear friends, was the Golden Age of his illustrious career.  Shortly after his quick ascension, Hewett grew restless; the limited skills of his school orchestra was holding him back since half the kids did not take music very seriously.  Thirsting for more, he stumbled upon the El Camino Youth Symphony.  There, he was quickly taken aback; he was merely average in an amazing pool of talent that had included virtuoso giants such as Shawyon Malek.  Nevertheless, the music was beautiful, encouraging our young hero’s strong passion for music.  There, Hewett thrived as the ensemble performed not only in Hewett’s hometown but also in Russia, Estonia, Finland, Germany and Poland.  It was an experience of a lifetime, producing music in some of the greatest concert halls in the world.  Unfortunately, Hewett Lan could not stay there forever, as he soon graduated high school and had to move onto college.  Much to his delight, UC Davis hosts a great symphony orchestra in a wonderous concert hall.  Today, you can find Hewett producing the music of angels as part of the first violin section of the UCDSO.
