Royal Drawing School Scholarship Winners

The Royal Drawing School, based in London, aims to raise the standard and profile of drawing through teaching and practice. At its core is the belief that drawing is crucial for all aspects of visual learning. Thanks to the generosity of Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem, UC Davis is able to offer 4 students scholarships to attend the Royal Drawing School’s Drawing Intensive program, September 21– November 28, 2015.

The following students have been selected for the Royal Drawing School Scholarship:

1. Natalie Samuel, B.A. 2015
2. Marina Weiner, B.A. 2015
3. Rosemary Hall, B.A. 2013
4. Elsa Lu, B.A. 2015

Students build a 5-day-a-week personalized schedule from the School’s suite of classes and attend the School’s lecture and “in conversation” program. The Drawing Intensive includes individual tutorial support and group critiques. The world-class collections of London’s major museums are easily accessible and form a wonderful resource for the program, which is split into three principal strands—drawing from life, drawing from art and drawing on the streets.
