MFA Theatre and Dance Design Students Attend UCLA Showcase

Two-time Academy Award winner Quentin Tarantino gave the keynote speech at the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television’s 14th Annual Design Showcase West (DSW) on Saturday, June 4, and in attendance were Mari Carson and Sojin Han, Master of Fine Arts design students in UC Davis Department of Theatre and Dance. The showcase, created by UCLA TFT, is the only entertainment design showcase on the West Coast featuring the work of students graduating from the nation’s top university design programs. Exhibits ranged from costume design to scenic, sound, lighting and production design.

Attending with John Iacovelli, professor of theatre, Carson and Han exhibited examples of their design work done at UC Davis in the areas of scenic and costume design.
