Film Festival @ UC Davis Offers Workshop on Copyrights and Trademarks
Filmmakers can learn more about the copyrighting and trademarking material you create when the Film Fest @ UC Davis offers a free workshop on the subject. The free event is Dec. 4 from 7-8 p.m. in Art Annex room 107.
Emmy Award-winning scenic and production designer Professor John Iacovelli, Department of Theatre and Dance, provides insight into the handling and process of copyrighting and trademarking your films.
“Find out how to avoid using copyrighted material in your films,” said Iacovelli. “The use of such may prevent it form being shown in festival or on Youtube. We will also discuss how to get items cleared and what is in the public domain, and there for free, and what is not. We will also talk about what logos you can show and what artwork is ’cleared’ and what is not.”
