The Past Cannot Be Cured - Queen Elizabeth I
It’s June 1, 1953, and Queen Elizabeth II prepares for her coronation. It’s been over a year since King George VI’s passing, and it is time for Elizabeth to ceremonially take the crown. But, what the night has in store for her, nobody could have guessed. Part fever dream, part history lesson, ELIZABETH(S) takes the young Queen and the audience through a wild ride of royal history, contemporary music, and timeless wisdom that prepares the way for the next generation of leadership, no matter the century.
The show is A Christmas Carol meets Picasso at the Lapin Agile meets a Spice Girls reunion tour. This historically informed dark comedy takes the past seriously and looks to the future, all while weaving a feminist manifesto with some truly stellar beats.
