Dolph Gotelli Creates New Exhibition at Folsom Museum
Museum of Wonder & Delight, Folsom
Dolph Gotelli, professor emeritus of Design, has created “Let’s Play: Childhood Treasures from the Toy Box,” a new exhibition featuring an assembly of whimsical toys, dolls, games, and books from his own collection. The fantastical show is on display at the Museum of Wonder & Delight which is a member of the family of Folsom Historical Museums and runs March 31 through June 30.
Fantasy objects including Victorian paper toys, jumping jacks, games, puzzles, puppets and ethnographic toys designed out of recyclable materials will be presented. Displays of a clockwork Puss-in-boots, an English Punch & Judy Theatre and a Spring Tea Party attended by dolls and Teddy Bears will be another whimsical attraction. A highlight will be an installation of a Fairyland tree house inhabited by fairies, elves and other fantasy residents. You won’t want to miss it!
