Auditions for “The Bluest Eye”

SIGN UP FOR AUDITION TIME SLOT

The UC Davis College of Letters and Science’s Department of Theatre and Dance is holding auditions for “The Bluest Eye,” a stage adaptation of the Toni Morrison novel on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 26 and 27 from 6 to 10 p.m. in the Main Theatre, Wright Hall. Students are encouraged to audition, all roles are open.

A unique aspect of this production that it will be told with the aid of puppets which will be designed and created under the supervision of Janni Younge, an award-winning puppet designer and director. The production will be co-directed by Margaret Laurena Kemp and Younge. 

Please present a monologue and be prepared to read from the script. Please prepare a song but be advised you will sing without accompaniment. Please come dressed to move.

The production runs May 10-12 and 17-19 at 7 p.m. and May 12 and 19 at 2 p.m. at UC Davis. Rehearsals will begin in spring quarter and will be take place in the evenings and on Saturdays.
