DRA 198: The Principles and Practices of a Broadway Musical
Fall 2017
This course is a lab/lecture series on the principles and practices of a Broadway Musical. The American Musical is a rich and exciting art form, and a true jewel of the American arts crown. This course will study the history of the art form as basis, diving deep into the roots of musicals, and how they became what we love today. We will also explore components and techniques of creating musicals in a lab/classroom situation, and use these techniques to mount a scene/song collaborative effort.
