Meets by arrangement. However, an audition is required. Note: Students who audition for the UC Davis Symphony Orchestra are not required to perform in a separate Chamber Music audition. They only need to inform Professor Hess of their intent to register for Chamber Music.
Auditions are Tuesday, September 26, from 2–4 pm in Room 1148 “Woodwind Studio” in the Ann E. Pitzer Center. You must sign up for a time via this link and choosing the appropriate options. All applicants should prepare a solo piece that demonstrates fast and slow playing (it can be two different pieces or sections from the same work).
Student Chamber Music at UC Davis is primarily intended for advanced music students who are seeking additional performance opportunities. Intermediate level students may be accepted when appropriate. Participants do not need to be a music major to participate.
Students are limited to one ensemble per quarter. Music majors and minors, however, may ask for an additional ensemble in order to fulfill their course requirements.
For questions about Student Chamber Ensembles, please contact Carol Hess.
