Julia Couzens in “What’s MY Line?”

Alum Julia Couzens (MFA 1990) is participating in the exhibition “what’s MY line” at Transmitter in Brooklyn, New York. Curated by Kirk Stoller, “what’s MY line?” includes Adam Fowler, Alicia McCarthy, Miles Neidinger and Maria Vasconcelos in addition to Couzens.

Line is the cornerstone of the visual arts. With a distinctiveness that signifies its basic strength of purpose, it defines space, builds form, describes movement, and conjures optical effect. For the artists in what’s MY line, the creation of a line performs not only these foundational tasks, but also binds them to its form, allowing individually ascribed meanings to flourish.

“what’s MY line” runs from May 11 to June 14, 2018
